Which Mario Kart 8 Tracks Could You Drive in Real Life?

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe offers incredibly imaginative tracks, but how many of them could you realistically drive on with a normal car? From massive jumps to anti-gravity sections, some of these courses push the limits of what’s possible in reality. Let’s see which tracks would hold up if Nintendo tried to bring them to life!

Mushroom Cup

Mario Kart Stadium – This track is too wild with its anti-gravity loop, making it undrivable in a regular car. Water Park – Driving underwater? Not happening. Impossible for real-life vehicles. Sweet Sweet Canyon – The anti-gravity syrup section makes this one impossible too. Thwomp Ruins – Although initially promising, a huge glider jump ruins it for real cars. Drivable Tracks: 0/4

Flower Cup

Mario Circuit – Entirely anti-gravity, so not happening. Toad Harbor – Surprisingly, you can stay on flat roads here, making this the first real-world drivable track! Twisted Mansion – Vertical wall driving puts this in the “nope” category. Shy Guy Falls – Anti-gravity waterfall driving? Another no-go. Drivable Tracks: 1/4

Shell Cup

Moo Moo Meadows – This is a straightforward, rural track with no issues for real cars. GBA Mario Circuit – An enormous jump makes this track undrivable. Cheep Cheep Beach – This has an unavoidable glider section over water, so it’s a no. Toad’s Turnpike – As a basic freeway, this is easily drivable. Drivable Tracks: 2/4

Banana Cup

Dry Dry Desert – You can bypass the sinkholes and water sections, so it’s doable. Donut Plains 3 – The large pond in the way rules this one out. Royal Raceway – A glider jump is the dealbreaker here. DK Jungle – The big glider section in the middle makes it impossible. Drivable Tracks: 1/4

Star Cup

Sunshine Airport – Glider sections make this track unrealistic. Dolphin Shoals – The underwater setting makes this undrivable in reality. Electrodrome – Anti-gravity throughout the track makes it impossible. Mount Wario – With so many anti-gravity sections and jumps, this mountain descent would be impossible. Drivable Tracks: 0/4

Special Cup

Cloudtop Cruise – Anti-gravity and flying over clouds make this one impossible. Bone-Dry Dunes – Almost doable, but a massive glider jump at the end rules it out. Bowser’s Castle – This wild track has too many hazards to be possible in real life. Rainbow Road – The iconic but insane outer-space course isn’t feasible. Drivable Tracks: 0/4

Leaf Cup

Wario Stadium – Underwater, anti-gravity, and big jumps make this one impossible. Sherbet Land – You can stay on the surface and avoid the underwater parts, making this one possible. Music Park – With only minor jumps, this one is drivable. Yoshi Valley – Avoiding big drops makes this track possible. Drivable Tracks: 3/4

Lightning Cup

Tick Tock Clock – Small jumps and manageable heights make this one possible. Piranha Plant Slide – Underwater sections rule this one out. Grumble Volcano – Taking the safe route, you can avoid big jumps and make this one possible. N64 Rainbow Road – Covered in anti-gravity sections, making it impossible. Drivable Tracks: 2/4

Egg Cup

Yoshi Circuit – A simple flat track, so no problem here. Excitebike Arena – Completely flat and designed like a dirt track, so it’s good. Dragon Driftway – Entirely anti-gravity, so impossible for a real car. Mute City – The futuristic layout makes this one too unrealistic. Drivable Tracks: 2/4

Crossing Cup

Baby Park – Tilted but flat enough for real-world driving. Cheese Land – A big glider jump makes it undrivable. Wild Woods – Driving on the side of a tree? Definitely impossible. Animal Crossing – Unavoidable glider jump makes it impossible. Drivable Tracks: 1/4

Triforce Cup

Wario’s Gold Mine – Massive jumps on the track make it undrivable. SNES Rainbow Road – Surprisingly flat, so it’s doable. Ice Ice Outpost – A huge glider jump makes it impossible. Hyrule Circuit – Another track with an unavoidable glider jump. Drivable Tracks: 1/4

Bell Cup

Neo Bowser City – Steep but passable without any anti-gravity twists, making it realistic. Ribbon Road – Multiple high jumps rule this out. Super Bell Subway – Fully drivable, although don’t try this in a real subway. Big Blue – This one is simply too futuristic and twisty to work in real life. Drivable Tracks: 2/4

So, in the base game of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, 15 of the 48 tracks would be drivable in real life. Although real-world cars can’t handle anti-gravity or gliding, there are enough simpler tracks to take for a spin.
